Rwanda is a country with the history of bloodshed and genocide on its hands. But across that green African nation, the "country of a thousand hills", reconciliation is growing.

God is doing things. Westlake Church is partnering with Food for the Hungry (FHI) Geneva in a project called C2C-Community to Community. This is a new concept of sponsorship whereby, instead of supporting individuals, we offer support to a whole community.

FHI has been working in the area since 2003 through its program of Child sponsorship. The population of this community is estimated at 6,721 people. There are 462 widows with children, and 59 child headed households, these are families of children living together under the responsibility of the eldest child.

It is a privilege for Westlake to partner with FHI in this project and monies that we send to this community are used to continue the work with the children and education, to support the local association already in place to promote Income Generating Activities in the community and to promote health through education.
